Journey into the heart of who you are.

Journey into the heart of who you are.

  • Individual Therapy

Rediscover your potential. Embark on a journey of healing and recovery. Perhaps you are ready for change. Maybe you desire to better understand what has occurred in your past. Perhaps you are seeking guidance to help let go of anger, hurt, and fear. No matter the reason, I am here to help you journey into the heart of what ails you so that you can be who you truly are.

  • Couples therapy

The work done in couples therapy is a mutual, open-ended process. The growth of your relationship will require trust, transparency, respect and vulnerability. For this reason, you and your partner will need to bring everything to the task. This experience can be deeply transformative and is just as much for yourself as it is the both of you.

  • LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy

As an AAMFT certified LGBTQIA+ Affirmative Therapist and gay cis-gender male, my way of engaging with you will always be real, authentic, and sensitive to your needs and feelings. Together we will work to create opportunities for deep personal healing and growth by uncovering and honoring your personal truth.

the Four foundational pillars of healing…

  • Family Dynamics

Family dynamics are the interactional patterns, hierarchies, roles and schemas you experienced within your family as a child. Examining these dynamics can tell us a lot about the conscious and unconscious thoughts, feelings, and decision-making you tend toward as an adult, including who you are likely to choose for a partner and how you raise your children. By bringing to light the intricacies of this blueprint you will become empowered to adopt healthier ways of being in relation to yourself and others.

  • Identity

External factors like family dynamics, culture, and past psychological injuries heavily influence the core beliefs driving our hopes and fears. However, internal factors play a key role as well: talents, skills, interests, values, and intelligence. We will leverage these strengths to heal unmet underlying needs while fortifying a more empowered self concept. Example techniques include the use of art, music, writing exercises, mirror work, inner child work, assigned reading, workbooks, images, fantasies, and dreams.

  • Resilience

Resilience is the ability to cope and recover from stressful life events. We will assess your past and current coping strategies, daily routines and rhythms as well as the environments in which you work, live and play in order to determine the presence or absence of protective factors. Protective factors foster a sense of safety, security and overall health and well-being. In situations in which resilience is lacking, we may brainstorm tangible action items to enhance these necessary protective factors.

  • Future Vision

A focus on future vision is of upmost importance in order to determine and maintain desired gains both during and post-treatment. Developing a well-crafted future vision will help you take control of life in the here-and-now so that desired opportunities continue to emerge. Example techniques include visualization, setting intentions, career development, financial planning, commitment and acceptance exercises, journaling, resourcing, and/or supplementary healing practices.

It all begins with you…

  • Pre-intake Assessment

Before our first meeting you will complete a pre-intake assessment to begin the process of identifying areas of concern, severity level, and possible psychiatric diagnoses.

  • Diagnostic interview

During the diagnostic interview, we will review the results of the pre-intake assessment and gather additional information about your overall functioning culminating in the development of S.M.A.R.T. goals.

  • S.M.A.R.T. Goals

Together we will develop S.M.A.R.T. goals to provide a clear road map toward achieving your future vision. S.M.A.R.T. goals help track progress and ensure forward momentum rather than stagnation.
